A short rundown of some of the currently most worrisome aspects of the American political landscape. Some of this shit is real, insidious evil - but you never seem to hear much if anything about it from the MSM. They must be a bunch of "Liberals".

This article says that Pat Robertson says he can leg press a ton. Well, if Pat says so, it's gotta be true. He wouldn't lie, would he?

Remember the nut job with the John 3:16 sign and in the Rainbow Afro wig from the 70s and 80s?

Yeah... turns out he's been doing three life sentences since '93.

A great little game. I'm wondering if it comes in a 2-player version. I haven't found one yet...

This little story is so poignant, it kind of makes me think we need a 'sad but true' tag.

In their reporting on the verdicts in the Enron criminal proceedings, almost none of the major news organizations even mentioned Bush's ties to Kenny Boy, and his general affinity for that whole corporate culture.

I wonder why?

That's the Arabic name for the Arabian religious police. And bet on it - we'll have them here too, if the religious fundie zealots like the "Moral Majority" and "Generation Joshua" get their way. In fact, the "War On Drugs" and other victimless "crimes" that are based on a legislated moral code make the function of police officers in the U.S. tantamount TO religious police.

For some reason, these fundamentalist Christians think the Muslims are crazy. Well, they happen to be correct. But they also don't seem to have any mirrors handy.

Near-Death Experiences, that phenomenon wherein one is drawn towards the light, seem not to be limited to those in Western societies.

However, as this article from the excellent Damn Interesting website explains, the differences reported by those from other cultures seem to indicate that it is a completely natural function of culture and chemistry, not a supernatural trip to 'the other side'.

Turns out nobody knows HOW much money they spend prosecuting marihuana laws.

Oh well, no big deal, this is the United States after all. Home of the Free. And Christ, if you can't freely decide to put something that grows naturally beside the road into your own body in the privacy of your own home, well, then it wouldn't be all that free after all, anyway, now would it? Oh, wait...

We've covered this before, but here it is again, in all its glory - they Grand Canyon Skyway. I can't wait to walk out on it, no matter how terrifying it may be.

Meet KEO - the satellite, due to be launched sometime in 2007, is supposed to carry a message to the future from every possible person on Earth. Then, it's going to orbit the Earth for 50,000 years, before returning to deliver those messages. It's a nice thought, I suppose.

Good luck to them.

By the way - you have four uncensored pages to type your message to the future - what will your message be?
