Science

Now we know why all those horoscopes have seemed so random. Maybe now we can get down to the business of *accurately* predicting the future.

Weird

In the utterly bizarre new season of the "reality" show Survivor, the "tribes" will be based on - get this - RACE.

That's right - get ready for an all new Blacks vs. Whites vs. Latinos vs. Asians!

About

"We know that people will report that a breakfast bar tastes worse if the packaging describes it as containing soy, even if it contains no soy, and that Black Forest Double-Chocolate Cake tastes better than Chocolate Cake, even when the cakes themselves are identical. Above all, we know that just because people say they want to eat more healthily, it doesn't mean they really do."

Shut up and give me one of those BK Quad Stackers.

Interesting

To people born in 1987 (they're going to college now!), Andy Warhol, Liberace, Jackie Gleason, and Lee Marvin have always been dead, and Bill Gates has always been worth at least a billion dollars. Among many other amazing things.

Needless to say, the U.S. needs considerable more (not less) intelligence in this desperate fight on terror. But this move by Judge Taylor, coupled with the assistance of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) sets the U.S. back to the Stone Age. As a result, the terrorist organizations are rejoicing with the renewed possibilities that they can increase terrorist working cells in the U.S. and not have to worry about being caught

This is another reason why it is important to not just vote but to vote responsibly. There are now many candidates whose (...MORE)

Scary

Keeping in mind that it was NOT Lebanon that committed acts of war against Israel, it was Iran using the ground of Lebanon which it and Syria controls. Unleashing Hezbollah was an Iranian act of War. Tehran has made clear its intentions to eliminate Israel and to Secure Jerusalem for itself. These next 2-5 days will or shoud tell if The Iranian Madman is going to act to bring about a real World War III NOW or later.

This interesting article from Cringely isn't just about how the end of net neutrality might affect Bit Torrent downloads; it also gives some technical (but understandable) information about how the protocol, and especially it's overhead, works.
